There is an old belief that “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. It denotes that a true friend will always be there to help you when you are in difficulty, not like those who disappear right away. Some people may have a wrong impression of this saying. It is sometimes misunderstood, as “a person who desires help from you will become your friend.” So, you may ask who your true friend is.

You will not be short of friends. Still, it is hard to find a true one. Even if you have thousands of friends, they will not give you a hand when you are in difficulty if they are not your true friends.

The world is transforming all the time, as friends keep changing too. The people who still stay on your side, when you are psychologically, physically and economically in trouble, are your true friends.

We may fail to remember some friends when we left some places. For example, when we left our school and go to the colleges or universities, we make new friends and forget the old ones. And when we start working, we may also fail to remember the old friends.

People frequently lose contact with their old friends when they change school, switch to job and so on. This happens for the reason that a lot of the people that you once had communication with are not really your “friends”. They are basically people that are put at the same places with you because of work or joint responsibilities.

Have you ever chatted and made friends online? If yes, how long does this relationship last? It is hard to carry on friendship on the Internet. However, it can be successful if you make friends without any reason or any purpose and you share common interests with your friends.

If you want to have a true friendship, you need cooperation, excitement to sacrifice and help your friends in trouble. You shouldn’t depend on your friends too much and never anticipate your friends will have the same opinion with you all the time. When you depend too much on your friends; in fact, you are demanding more than you need.

A true friendship is a form of love. A true friend would love you and put you at a very high priority in his/her life. Thus, if you are able to find some true friends in life, you should feel blessed and be thankful to god.
