Evolution of Adidas Football Boots
The Evolution of Adidas.
What is Adidas?
Adidas is a German sports manufacturing company. They make products for all kinds of sports. These include football (soccer), basketball, golf, cricket, tennis and lacrosse. Adidas is probably best known for their football products. Adidas’ football products include boots and jerseys. They also produce shin pads and socks for football players. They make jerseys for all the teams of the Major Soccer League. Adidas also makes jerseys for many international teams. These include Russia, France, Germany, Greece, Romania, Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Japan and Nigeria. Adidas’ boots are probably the most used football boots in the world.
The One that Started It All: In 1950, the Adidas Samba was introduced. It was the first boot that moulded multi-studded rubber soles.
The Predator Series:
Their most famous boot is the “Predator.” Highly skilled players claim that they can curve their shots better because of this boots design which included a ribbed rubber structure for the upper leather part of the shoe used to control the movement of the ball when struck. In 1978, the first Predator was used by Australian, Craig Johnston. Later, in 1979, an improved version of the Predator was introduced by Adidas. It gave players even better control of the ball. It had TRAXION technology which meant it had a grip like a screw-in stud football boot, comfort like a moulded shoe. Then, in 2005, another model of the Adidas Predator was released. It was called the “+Predator Absolute.” In 2006, Adidas released the Predator PowerSwerve. It is said to increase eight percent more swerve and three percent power more than the 2005 Adidas Predator. Some of the players that used the Adidas Predator for their 2008 season include Steven Gerrard, Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard, and Robin Van Persie. In 2009, Adidas introduced a new and improved Predator Powerswerve. Its new features include 10 grams of additional tungsten powder in the insole and liquid rubber on the medial vamp. Players who are currently using the new Predator Powerswerve for their 2009 season include Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, Anderson, Michael Ballack, Micah Richards and Dirk Kuyt.
Other Boots:
Adidas has produced many other models of football boots except the Predator. In 1979, the Copa Mundial was introduced. It was made with the world’s softest leather and it provided a perfect and smooth run on any type of pitch. Although the Predator is one of the most famous boots now, the Copa Mundial remained as the most famous boots for years because of it’s combination of speed and comfort.
Another model of Adidas boots are the “AdiPURE.” It is designed to be simple yet pure. The high-quality materials, soft leather and pre-moulded sockliner provide great comfort as well as an excellent control on the ball.
In 2008, Adidas introduced the”F50.8 TUNiT.” It was a very unique design and included a transparent material on the side. This transparency is provided by the Alles Klar (a transparent material) on the sides.
One of the new boots that were introduced includes the new AdiPURE. It is made with soft K-leather. It is provides excellent shooting control and comfort. Players using the new AdiPURE include Kaka, Frank Lampard, Robin van Persie, and Xabi Alonso.
Another new 2009 model is the improved version of the “F50.8 TUNiT,” the “F50.9 TUNiT.” Like the F50.8 TUNiT, the new version also includes the transparent Alles Klar. The other version of the F50.9 TUNiT is the Messi F50.9 TUNiT, his signature boot.
Adidas is now one of the top sports gear manufacturing companies and will continue running for a long time to come. It has produced some great boots this year. We can only wait until we find out what they have made next year.
