Live the Fashion Adventure of Spring 2009

A summary of some fashion must-haves for this spring.

This Spring is all about adventure, whether you prefer street chic, ethnic inspiration, modern look, 50s inspiration, romantic look, classics, or western inspiration. Pick the style that you most are drawn to, and live your social fantasies daily by expressing your individualistic style and being you. But, whichever style you choose, dressing for Spring is all about mixing color, patterns and style for a particular look.

Street Chic style involves a funky and eclectic look created by wearing large and colorful bangles piled on both wrists, feathers, fishnet stockings, high heel lace up shoes, and Madonna’s 80s look. Also, motorcycle jackets and boots as well as aviator sunglasses and jackets can be added to this style that is filled with street adventure.

Or, go back to the 50s, and bring back clothes with glamor but add a modern 2009 edge to it. A polka dotted bodice dress has clean lines but an asymmetrical cut, and worn with clunky and modern-looking platform high heel shoes. Add a simple but wide belt to cinch the waist, and you got a clean but feminine look. Shorter dresses with an a-line bottom, pearl necklace and earrings, red lipstick, simple and black patent pumps, and a small clutch creates the glamorous and classic 50s look.

Travel to India, at a mall nearest you, to buy the multi-patterned wrap skirt and/or dress that has unlimited different ways of wrapping it around your body. It is soft, sheer and feminine. Great for the romance of Spring. You can also add a narrow belt to it as well as a long cardigan for cool nights.

Ruffles, flowy skirts, draping and tiers are popular and very feminine this Spring, but in nude and beige colors. Such clothes are worn with strappy shoes, whether flats or high heels. Lace up is popular this Spring, whether for clothes or shoes.

Bohemian look continues this Spring with clothes, shoes and accessories in natural colors, like the colors of ropes, wheat, cream and off-white. Such accessories have a braided accent for headbands, sandals, bracelets, and necklaces. Beads and jewels decorate these natural braided trendy items to give such natural-colored accessories personality and a touch of color.

Go monochromatic in all nude or beige, from head to toe.

High heel cage and gladiator shoes are popular, worn with dresses or pants. Also, ankle booties continue to be popular for Spring, but they are open toe and some are black lace. Funky high heel shoes give a simple outfit personality.

Bright colors make simple and minimalistic style fun and exciting rather than austere and boring.

Western styles include denim as well as brown and beige colors. There are also lots of silver and turquoise jewelry and accessories. Just think of Cowboys and Indians for your shopping scavenger hunt. Lots of fringe and tassels are added to this exotic western adventure.

Hats are fun again, whether colorful and wide brim hats or fedora.

Trench coats are the classic look for this Spring, worn in different colors and different ways, for all occasions.

Pajama and Lingerie inspiration outerwear looks comfortable and casual but sexy. With the right accessories, such clothes can also be dressy and elegant.

The must have pants are the pants that gather at the ankles similar to the “Jeannie” pants. Also, short jackets with some kind of design on them, such as the soldier-style jackets, look great with pants.

Florals are always popular in Spring, whether on dresses, shoes or purses.

Geometric black and white combination are fun and modern.

Lots of gold in clothes, shoes and purses. Jewelry with animal design brings the safari to your wardrobe. Big sunglasses, doctor-bag purses, and sequin purses with gold chain handle are more accessories to further decorate your wardrobe this Spring.

For makeup, just wear dark red lipstick shades, from berry to wine, peach blush and blue eyeshadow shades with black eyeliner. White nail polish is also popular.
