Name Brand or Cheaper Version?
This article debates if name brand or cheap version items are best.
We all went through stage of having to have the top name brands of something. Whether it be Nike shoes, aeropostale clothing, or a Dooney and Burke handbag. Then later or hopefully later, we all realize hey, I can pay 20 bucks for this pair of jeans and wear them exactly like that 150 dollar pair. Or you know this 7 dollar handbag holds my make up and wallet just as well as this 300 dollar handbag.
So what is it that makes everyone want the name brand items? Most people say because everyone else has them. So what? Big deal! If they want to waste that extra 130 bucks on just one pair of jeans then let them. Be smarter than that. Instead of going to the mall and buying one pair of jeans go to walmart and buy seven pairs for the same price as that one. I promise there are cute styles of purses that do not have Dooney and Burke or Louis vuitton tag sewed into them. They also do not have a 300 dollar price tag.
Other people say that name brand items last longer. Personally, I can tell you this is not true. I bought a pair of jeans from American Eagle, and also a pair from walmart on the same day. Do i need to say which pair ripped first? You bet the expensive ones from American Eagle did. They got thread bare faster, the knees got holes in them first, and the color also faded sooner. The jeans i got from walmart are still lasting, still being worn. While the other jeans that i paid way more for have been trashed for a while.
I am willing to admit though, that Adidas shoes lasted me longer than walmart brand. I also will tell you i spent about 80 more dollars on them. While some items do last longer most name brand items are no better than cheaper versions. Of course you have those people that have the extra money to blow on just the title, or the name on a tag. Then you have those that really do not have the money to blow but are to proud to be caught with anything less than the best. The question is which is really the best?

It depends on the each brand…. some name brands are better and some off brands are best.
Great article.

I agree with you, some items such as athletic shoes, last longer and fit better than cheap versions. That is because companies like Nike spend a lot of time and money researching and developing the product, since this is their main thing. But for other items, I will go for a cheaper version. I think it all depends on the company and their main product line. Good article.
