An exquisite ivory satin gown perfectly fit on Michelle Obama. The gown is simple but with extraordinary flavour on the First Lady. She looked utterly elegant in the gown. Beautiful, charismatic, charming and rather sweet were expressed by Michelle Obama.
Question popped out. Who designed this gown?
Jason Wu is the designer who made the gown. At 26, he has already won the international award for designing Doll’s dress. Born in Taiwan, he has this huge fascination on bridal gown and Barbie dress, His parent knew this kid has unusual talent for fashion, hence, at the age of 9, Jason Wu moved to Toronto with his mother.
Mrs Wu had never doubted his son’s talent. Drove him to the local design school to learn how to cut and tailor the Barbie dress under the designer Tyra Zeildler. At high school’s time, he won the first prize of international designer of Barbie dolls. At the age of 18, he is the creative director of Integrity Toys’s Fashion Royalty. His collection was displayed at the F.A.O. Schwarz which people queued up through night in order to get their hand of the limited edition. Jason Wu possesses incredible talent towards the fashion. Later, he enrolled in the prestigious Parson School of Design. Even before that, Jason Wu had already made a name in Barbie doll’s design. In 2006, he opened his first store in New York..
When Michelle Obama appeared on TV, Jason Wu was taken aback. He had never imagined the First Lady would choose his design. He called home to his parents in Taiwan and broke out of tear. Unknown to this young and talented designer, his life is changes forever.
Anyone who was fascinated by the ivory satin gown may visit the Smithsonian. For Mr. Jason Wu, this is part of the journey for the coming years.
Finally, before I sum up, I just wish the designer could design some gowns or dresses which fit more petite customers. After all, not every one has the same height as the models and not every dress is as affordable to the budgets. .
