Yes, that’s right. Denmark has produced a super car that can compete with the Bugatti Veyron. It’s called the Zenvo ST1 and it is produced by a little company called Zenvo Automotive.

Zenvo has said that they will put the ST1 in production sometime in 2009, but so far they have only released images. When they do put it into production, only 15 will be made. They will all be sold to “specially approved customers”. Let’s hope this is not just another concept which eventually just dies off and everyone forgets about. It seems like a very interesting machine.

The specifications of the car are quite impressive. It is powered by a 7 liter V8 which produces 1 104 horsepower! 1 104!!! The Veyron produces 1 001, and it has a massive 8 liter quad-turbocharged W16 under the hood.

Speed-wise, the ST1 tops out at about 375 km/h, while the Bugatti will keep going until it reaches 407 km/h.  Let’s talk acceleration. The ST1 does zero to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, whereas the Bugatti does it in 2.46 seconds. Considering the Bugatti is a couple hundred kilos heavier than the ST1, that is very impressive.

Zenvo has not yet specified the fuel consumption of the ST1, but do not expect anything great. The Bugatti, quite a similar car, will empty its 100 liter tank in 12 minutes when going flat out. Not very practical, is it?

If the Danish Zenvo ever puts this car into production, it will be very interesting to see how it copes in the super car world. And we though Denmark only made nice furniture and beautiful girls!

Now, you are probably thinking, wow these cars are amazing. Well sure, they are fast, exciting, and exhilarating, but to me, they seem a little pointless. These cars have incredible performance and speed, but they are lacking what every car needs: character.  It seems kind of childish, really.
