Black Smoke
Whenever a black smoke is seen from the exhaust, it signifies that there I an inefficient spray of diesel in the combustion chamber. I will liken the fault to that of vibrations in engine. It is the same because the inefficient spray could either be as a result of particles in the diesel which is choking the filters and therefore will not allow fuel to flow freely. Another could also be the injector nozzle which could be faulty.
There is an amount of fuel that is required in the combustion chamber for perfect combustion when that amount of fuel is not met, the engine will be working with force resulting to black smoking. Another cause could be overloading of the generator. Too much load on the generator will bring about emission of black smoke.
Solution: When black smoke is noticed from the exhaust fumes, the first thing to check is the filters in other to know if it is choked with dirt. The filter is to be replaced is it is choked or if it is not the filter hen the next place to check is the injector nozzles repair.
