Causes of Vibrations in Engines: Part 1
From my training, I got to understand that when you observe vibrations in engine, you will have to look at every parameter that has to do with fuel flow and fuel supply. We will look at the problem from both points of view and also talk about the solutions.

Now let us look the problem of fuel flow, which is one major cause of vibrations. In other words, there is a problem that lies on the part that the fuels flows to the combustion chamber and when this flow is altered, the engine works forcefully making it to vibrate.
As an engineer, the first place I will look at during vibration is the fuel filter. This means that the fuel filter is choked to the extent that fuel hardly flows to the nozzle and that will alter the rate of combustion. A contaminated diesel with dirt is the reason why a filter will be choked and that is one of the major reasons.
Solution: Then solution to a choke filter is one to change the fuel to a cleaner one. But for an emergency, when an engineer gets to a site of a vibrating engine, it is wise to cleaner the filter to aid easy diesel passage or better of to change the filter.
