In other to prevent wear and tear in the moving parts of an engine, the lubrication of the engine is a very important factor. For various sizes and makes of engines comes with different types of lubricating oil to use. There are two types of lubricating oil namely electronics and ordinary oil. The electronic oil is much lighter in viscosity than the ordinary oil. The ordinary oil is used for smaller engines which could range from 11kva to 100kva but the electronic oil is used for engines ranging from 150kva and above.

Using the wrong specification of oil can greatly damage an engine. In some cases, oil begins to leak all over the engine.

The lubricating job of the oil makes it hot as it works, which is why the oil cooler is designed to cool the temperature of the oil. The oil cooler is located at the side of the engine block. Cool water from the radiator pumped by the water pump passes through the cooler and heat exchange is done at the oil cooler.
