The 2009 Nissan Murano is the modified version of its predecessor, the 2008 Murano. The new car is available in 5 trims, from the S 2WD with a price tag of $27,680 to the LE AWD with a price tag of $37,260. The new Murano comes with some fresh features while retaining all that we see in the 2008 Murano. The new car has the same shape as the old model, but the fabrication is in sheet metal. The new Murano has also caused its own share of controversy with its details.

The 3.5 L, 60-Degree, 24-valve, DOHC, SEFI engine powers the new Murano with 265 hp at 6000 rpm. The torque output of the engine is 248 lb-ft at 4400 rpm. The vehicle has the Xtronic adaptive automatic transmission in the S 2WD model. This is a continuously variable transmission and is electronically- controlled. The front suspension is independent strut suspension with coil springs. The rear suspension is of the “Multi-link” type. The 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes come with electronic brake assistance and traction control. It has the electronic brake-force distribution feature.

The exterior of the S 2WD trim comes with an optional, metallic paint, available in 8 different tints. The door handles and exhaust pipes have chrome on them. There is also a front-air dam and rear spoiler. The car has halogen headlamps. The interior also comes with lighting features like the illuminated entry, the storage space light and the front and rear map lights.

The new Murano comes with a complete list of safety features. These include the anti-theft facility with engine immobiliser, the front and rear crumple zones, the rollover sensor, the side guard door beams and several others. The power door locks are controlled with the help of key fob.

The interior of the car has come with the luxuries that one expects from a Nissan. The front bucket seats and the rear bench seats are cloth seats. The front seats have the 6-way memory capability. The rear seating is of the theater style. The seats come with adjustable headrests as well.
