Driveing down a gravel road enjoying the countryside.  The sun is shineing and it’s about 85 degrees in the shade a gorgeous summer day.  I notice a man mowing the ditch along side the road on a lawn tractor.  Brakeing gently to slow the 1977 Cutlass Salon with T-Tops’ big 420 Rocket engine down a little.  Don’t want to slide in all that gravel and his that guy on the lawn tractor.  Then out of the blue, that car starts bucking and hopping all over that gravel road like a bronco that I’d just dug my spurs into.  Frightened me to death ’cause I was afraid I was going to “mow” that man down.  After I walked the rest of the 5 miles home and called a tow truck the mechanic let me know that the tie-rod was badly worn and had finally broke off the steering on the car.  Let me tell you, I was so glad that I was only going about 45mph and no faster when that happened.
