White Smoke
When excess white smoke is seen from the exhaust pipe, it signifies mostly two faults. One of the faults is that the engine is not breathing normally of it is finding it hard to breath. This can arise from a choked air filter. This kind of faults arises from generator located in dusty areas; the dusts gets stocked to the air filter and compounds till it blocks the filter And chokes it, air will not pass easily again.
The second fault can also arise from the injector nozzle. White smoke also signifies that the nozzle is dripping diesel. A nozzle is meant to b spraying diesel and not dripping it. This is one of that reasons that leads to dilution. Excess gas in the combustion chamber can cause white smoke. Not necessarily a faulty nozzle can cause it, an engine that is cooled and that have not been running for a long time can also cause it but after it has worked for a while and placed on load, it will stop but when it does not stop after a while then the nozzle needs work.
Solution: The first solution to white smoke is to check if the air filter is choke and if it is, then it is to be replaced. For the second fault which is the nozzle is to check it for leakage and compression. In other words the nozzle needs calibration but if it cannot be repaired then it ill have to be replaced.
