World’s Fastest Cars

World’s Fastest Cars

The world’s most expensive and fastest cars to date.

Its no surprise every year car manufactures compete against one another for the top of the car charts.

The current leader for the fastest car in the world is the Bugatti Veyron. Its 16.4L engine produces a whopping 1001 bhp. 0-62 mph only 2.5 seconds! And a top speed of 254 mph! However its not a very economical car. The Veyron consumes more fuel than nearly any other production car, using 40.4 L/100 km (6.99 mpg-imp; 5.82 mpg-US) in city driving and 24.1 L/100 km (11.7 mpg-imp; 9.76 mpg-US) in combined cycle. But whats amazing is that the car itself costs a mind blowing £5,000,000 to make and is sold just short of £1,000,000.

However the magic of the Veyron hasn’t stopped other car manufacturers from attempting to compete against it. The Mercedes Benz SLR Mclaren is one of Mercedes Benz’s most honourable vehicles. The car uses carbon fibre for its entire body construction in an attempt to keep the weight low. The top speed of the monster, 208 mph. and 0-62 mph, 3.7 seconds! Not as impressive as the Veyron, but still amazing to drive.

There are alot of other cars up in there competing for the top, the Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari F360, Porsche 911, Audi R8. The list just doesn’t stop, but for now the reigning king of cars, is the Veyron!
