So I used to collect Bionicles and have about 40 different models. I have all of the normal sized ones from the first four series and a few from the newer series. I had a lot of fun playing with them in my younger days and enjoyed following the story by the comics and the movies.

However, since the release of several books a few years back, the Bionicle story is way to complicated. If you haven’t read the books (I haven’t due to not being able to find them in Australia) then you will be at loss if you are trying to pick up on the storyline.

Bionicles are made for kids, so why is the storyline so complicated? There are multiple villians who share the same name, quite a few special masks which morph into other things and lands which keep appearing. As a teenager now, even I have trouble with it.

What I’m saying is that the story needs to be simpler, like it was in the first few sets, with a group of heroes overcoming the bad guy and learning something in the process.

They are still awesome though.
