Mainly, the final image (with the Photoshopped darkened background) is of a glass decanter that I bought years ago with intentions to give as a gift, but never did. Well, I intend to fulfill this original intention this coming weekend and wanted to photograph it for my own posterity. The article just sort-of sprang from that. :-\
