Use a very small drop of liquid soap to your coin while you have it in the palm of your hand. Lightly use your fingertip to wash the dirt and debris from both sides of the coin. Cleanse methodically. If the coin seems to be clean and does not look tarnished, move to step five. If the coins remain dirty and tarnished, move to step four.

4.) Place a small amount of lemon juice in a cup.

Place the coin in the lemon juice and let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes. Check the coin about half way through the time and see if the dirt is removed. If not, let it sit for the rest of your time.

5.) Rinse coin and dry.

After doing these steps, rinse your coin off under cool water. Place your coin on a cloth and let it dry on its own. Do not wipe the coin dry.
