How to Start Collecting Baseball Cards

How to Start Collecting Baseball Cards

How to begin a baseball card collection.

1. You need to know if you want to collect old cards, new cards, cards from a certain company ( topps, upper deck, etc.), and/or sets of cards.

2. Try and find someone that has been collecting baseball cards for a while. They might help you start you collection and they will probably give you some good tips on how to collect and where to go in your town to get cards.

3. Try and find a baseball card shop in your area. Also see if there are any baseball card shows/ conventions that are coming soon to your area.

4. Get a price guide. These help you see how much cards are worth and if you are overpaying for them or not (the price guides usually have their prices kind of high though).

5. Get some baseball cards. Whether it is on ebay, at target or at your local baseball card shop, you need baseball cards to have a collection of them.

6. Make sure you keep your cards in good shape, that way they will look good and later they are worth more if they are in really good condition. You might want to get little plastic covers for good cards such as game used and autographed cards and other really good cards.

7. Have fun collecting. I have been collection for a while now and I really enjoy opening new packs and getting new packs. It is still a thrill when I pull a card out of a pack even though I have done it for a while.

I wish i had all the old baseball cards i used in the tires of my bycicle when i was a young boy. A lot of Willie Mays rookie cards, Mickey Mantle, Stan Musial, and on and on. I have kicked myself many times now that i’m older and realize just what i waisted.
