Every one knows about the new ways to have music in your life. Ipods, Itunes, Rhapsody, Cd’s, but what about the old ways? Their is a source of music that many choose to forget. That source is vinyl records, gramophone record, or phonograph records. A gramophone record, commonly known as phonograph record, vinyl record, or simply record, is an analog sound storage medium consisting of a flat disc with inscribed spiral grooves.

To some they are a product of the past, to others they are just as useful. The people who think they are usefull still go to thrift stores and old record shops collecting and collecting. But what do they do with all these records? they upload them online! there is now modern equipment that is capable of uploading vinyl records to your computer. wether it is mp3, wav, or mp4 files it doesnt matter. The point is now this old medium of music is coming back full force and is widely available to me and you via the internet. From what i have seen mainly people upload them to their blog for others to view. From there, you may either download what they have uploaded through a long list of download distriobuters like Megaupload for example.

This online community of vinyl enthusiasts is ever growing. The more i research the more i find. This is a very good thing in my opinion because it makes music that you would never have dreamed of available to people who didnt know to look for it. Also many people who produce hiphop look for this sort of thing to gather samples to flip and recreate into their own unique creation. Their is many ways to find blogs and websites that are part of the online vinyl community. Just go to google blogs and type in vinyl and your bound to hear some of the most amazing music youve ever heard. Not only listen to it, but download it to your computer and listen to it all the time! Who would have thought that oneday we could get things the size of my head in my computer so easily!

Anyway this is a very unique and fun way to find rare grooves. If you are a music lover and dont have time to collect records this is an excellent way to get what records have to offer. Not olnly is it free but the more people who start doing this the more inclined people will be to start uploading their vinyl and sharing it with the world.
