Pezophiles Unite
You know you love it. You can’t wait to crank that head back and have it spit out a piece of candy. It’s iconic. It’s art. It’s history. So why is Pez suing the Pez museum in Burlingame?

The company that makes Pez candy and dispensers is headquartered in Linz, Austria. So why are they in U.S. District Court suing a museum?
Well you see, there is a museum in Burlingame, California, that displays a Pez collection. One of every dispenser ever made. They also sell Pez.
Gary Doss, the curator and owner, also fancies himself something of an artist. He created a replica of the Snowman Pez dispenser. A replica that is 7 feet 10 inches tall. A working replica, 7 feet 10 inches tall, that if you are able to crank the head back, will dispense a box containing the original Snowman Pez it is based on along with a certificate of authenticity that it came from the giant Pez dispenser.
Oh wait! We can’t call it that. A while ago Pez sent Gary a letter demanding he not call it that. He complied. It is now a giant dispenser of Pez. Not a giant Pez dispenser.
Are all Austrians so anal?
The snowman has been recognized by Guinness World’s Records as the largest Pez dispenser. Why isn’t Pez suing them too?
Not only is Pez suing Gary Doss to have his work of art melted down, they want any and all money he made from his museum.
All the money it’s made since it opened 14 years ago!
Imagine that, an Austrian company trying to tell a Californian that he can’t build a 7 foot 10 inch snowman if he wants to.
My personal opinion is that Pez should back these people 100% and get off their damn high horse.
