When sewing on a machine always use a zipper foot to get close to the teeth for a neat look.
Tip nine:
Line up the top of the zip tape with the top of the fabric, this will allow you to add waistbands, facings or a hook and eye etc later.
Tip ten:
When sewing the zip in position start at the top and sew down on both sides, this will avoid pulling the fabric in different directions.
Tip eleven:
When working with light fabrics or loose weave fabrics attach some thin iron-on interfacing to the fly sections only before you start to sew for better results.
Tip twelve:
Use small tight tacking stitches to tack your zip in place before sewing on the machine, this will reduce the amount the zip moves during the machine sewing process.
Hopefully by following these tips you’ll be fitting zips that are perfect every-time in almost no time!
