Art Fun For All Ages
Looking for some ideas to keep the creative juices flowing and to engage your children or students in some art fun? Here are a few ideas.
Heart People
Materials needed: construction paper, scissors, glue, markers, and popsicle sticks (optional)
1. Cut out hearts of different sizes (and colors) for body, head, hands, and feet.
2. Cut out two strips of paper (width of paper) and cut into halves.
3. Fold strips into ½ inch spaces, alternating direction (accordion style).
4. Choose a head and body and glue.
5. Glue a strip on each side of body for arms, and one on each side of the bottom of the body for legs.
6. Glue a small heart on each arm and leg to represent hands and feet.
7. With a marker, add details to the face: eyes, nose, mouth, etc…
8. (optional) Glue popsicle stick to back.

Wrapping Money Bank
Materials: container with lid, wrapping paper, glue, and scissors
1. Choose wrapping paper and cut to fit container.
2. Glue paper to container.
3. Make slit in lid.
4. Save your coins for a special day, reward or gift.

Wrappin’ Collage
Materials: construction paper or poster board, wrapping paper, scissors, and glue
1. On construction paper or poster board, glue different shapes, designs or pictures from wrapping paper to create your own collage.

Leaf People
Materials needed: construction paper, scissors, glue, markers, and popsicle sticks (optional)

6. Glue a small leaf on each arm and leg to represent hands and feet.

Magic Wand
Materials: medium size stick, yarn of any color, wrapping paper, ribbons, scissors, glue, and tape
1. Cut off any small twigs from the sides of your stick.
2. Using glue and yarn, spread glue on small sections of the stick and wrap tightly with yarn. Continue until the entire stick is wrapped with yarn. Let dry.
3. Take a ribbon or strip of wrapping paper approximately three inches long and slice ¼ inch strips leaving at least ½ inches intact. Glue or tape to one point of the stick (see picture).
4. Decorate the rest of the wand as desired.
