Cat Gourd Birdhouses
Janet M Peebles grows, paints and signs her gourds.
My mother Janet M Peebles grows, paints and signs her own gourds. The ones in this video are about to be listed on e-Bay. She really likes the birdhouse gourds. She gets the most money out of them.
She also grows baby gourds and paints them to look like little snowmen. For Christmas she will be painting some birdhouse gourds as Santa. This year is the first time she has ever painted a Halloween Cat Birdhouse Gourd. You can see it in the video.

This year her garden has been producing a lot more gourds. They have also been producing later than usual due to all the rain this year. The biggest ones are bigger than ever this year. We also found out this year, not to cut the vines. The best gourds are out at the ends of the vines. As you can se in the picture I took of her garden, we have let the vines go way out into the yard.

Mother came in today bragging about how she found a bunch more growing out there. I believe the count is over 25 now. The one pictured above is the largest round one and she discovered it today. It is gonna be another month or two before these are ready to pick. So next year she is gonna have more than ever to do crafts with.
