The aroma of Christmas is welcome in the home. Cinnamon, Cloves, Oranges, Mandarins, Clementines and Tangerines not only look festive, their citrus and spice perfumes reminds us of the festive season.

A great way of adding this perfume to your home without using the commercial chemical sprays, is to make your own decorative pomanders using the items mentioned.

You will need:

Small sized, thin skinned Oranges

Cloves

Coloured headed pins (optional)

Two sticks of Cinnamon

Ribbon

Cocktail stick

Make several holes in the orange with the cocktail stick. Press in the cloves and add the coloured pins, make sure you cover the orange well. Leave a little bit of orange showing as it will shrink as it dries.

Take the ribbon, tie the Cinnamon sticks at the bottom of one end and form a loop, pierce a hole in the bottom two ends of ribbon. Pierce a hole in the top of the orange. Break the cocktail stick in half and lay the ribbon over the hole in the top end of the orange. Push in the cocktail stick to secure.

Hang your pomander where it will be dry and aired.

Experiment and decorate as desired.
