How to Make a Beautiful Paper Jasmine Flower

How to Make a Beautiful Paper Jasmine Flower

Surprise your friends and family members with one of these stylist homemade paper Jasmine flowers.

Jasmine is a plant with yellow or white sweet-smelling flowers. Indeed, they’re beautiful! Follow this step-by-step tutorial to create your own stylist homemade paper Jasmine flowers.

Note: all photos by author

In this project, you need to prepare two pieces of square papers so that you can make two jasmine flowers at the same time. You also need a little patience and practice. Once you’ve mastered the method you’ll find the paper Jasmine flowers quick and easy to make.

Step 1

Prepare a piece of square paper. Place the paper on a flat surface.

Step 2

Fold the paper diagonally both ways.

Open up the paper. You should now have one line dividing the paper diagonally, giving you two triangles.

Again, fold the paper diagonally both ways by lifting the lower right corner to the upper left corner.

Open up the paper again. Now, you should have two lines dividing the paper diagonally, giving you four triangles.

Step 3

Fold the lower part upward.

Fold up the other three corners.

Step 4

Fold this one exactly the same by repeating steps 1-3.

We’re going to use one of this as a template.

Step 5

From step 4 (the second photo), we’ll begin folding the purple one first. Now, place it on top of the yellow one, so that the centre crease of the first square (the purple one) aligning perfectly with the centre crease of the template square (the yellow one). Do the same for the other two portions.

From the centre, lift the triangle upward as shown in the photo.

From the centre, lift the other triangle downward as shown in the photo.

Do the same for the other two portions. Your paper should look like this.

Step 6

Face the colored side of the paper up towards you.

Now, place the yellow one on top of the purple one, so that the centre crease of the first square (the yellow one) aligning perfectly with the centre crease of the template square (the purple one). Do the same for the other two portions.

Step 7

Repeat step 5 (the second, third and forth photos).

Your paper should look like this.

Step 8

Now, we continue folding with either one. Here, I begin with the purple one.

Fold in half as shown.

Step 9

From step 8 (second photo), open up your paper and place it this way.

Fold another line as shown. Once completed, you should have four lines intersect in the middle of the paper.

Step 10

From step 9 (below the first photo), face the colored side of the paper up towards you. Your paper should look like this.

Now, we need to fold four times on the colored side. Fold the first line as shown.

Fold the second line as shown. Repeat the step and fold the third line.

Now, repeat the step and fold the forth line. Next, repeat all the steps here and fold exactly the same way for the yellow one.

The papers now should look like this.

Step 11

From step 10, all pre-creases were done. Turn over the paper this way.

Use your finger to press gently in the middle of the paper. Collapse the paper carefully.

Step 12

Make four flaps at each side as shown.

Step 13

From step 12, the last photo, turn the paper this way and press gently in its middle. Run your thumbnail along the sides to make a sharp crease.

From the first photo, press from the backward of the left portion to make a V crease as shown.

Step 14

Fold the V crease inward as shown. Hold the lower flap (the V crease you folded inward just now) and fold the first two flaps to the other side.

Step 15

From step 14, release the flaps. Your paper should look like this.

Open up the first petal as shown.

Step 16

From step 15, the second photo, open up all the petals as shown. You should now see a flower shape.

Repeat steps 11-14 and do exactly the same way for the yellow one.

Notice how your paper Jasmine flowers can also stand upright! Amazing, right? You’re done! Congratulation!

Step 17 (optional)

From step 16, you can make the petals appearing more attractive. To do this, use a toothpick to curl the petal one by one for both flowers until you get what is shown in the photo.

Happy folding and good luck! :-)
