How to Make a Paper Puppet
Fun ideas for children.
Have you ever just sat around writing on a piece of plain notebook paper and just wondered what other types of uses you could get out that lonely piece of notebook paper instead of just using it for everyday writing. Sometimes if you have children and are just bored and have gone through boredom day after day with nothing to do, you may start to think of ideas to entertain your children which are in the house with you day to day and sometimes you just want something fun to do to make the day go by just a bit faster. Well, you can do just that if you have one piece of notebook paper just lying around your home. It doesn’t even have to be a whole piece of paper. It can just be a piece of scrap paper just lying around. You can even use a piece of cardboard that you have lying around if you so wish. Cardboard would actually be a great choice of material to use for your paper puppet because of it’s durability. It can easily stand up on its own if you wish. Don’t get bored. Make up a puppet out of some paper and have some fun and while you’re at it, be a little creative with making your paper puppet.
All of the material that you will be needing to make your paper puppet are simple and very easy to get a hold of.
All that you will be needing is one piece of paper such as just a plain piece of notebook paper. It doesn’t have to be a whole piece. It can just be a half a piece or just a piece of scrap.
You will need some material for the added effects of your paper puppet to make it come alive for the child or children so that they can imagine the character in their own mind and imagine it as a real person or thing.
You are going to need a pen as well to draw the outline of your puppet no matter what it may be. You can make an animal if you wish and pick up some thread for whiskers or you can just make it a simple little person.
You will need some glue if you wish to paste items onto your paper puppet if you choose not to just draw everything.
You will also need some scissors to cut your figure out once you have completed your outline of whatever your chose to create.
You will need some craft glue to glue your items onto your paper puppet project.
Instructions:
First: Draw the outline of your figure out on the paper no matter what your character is going to be.
Second: Once your figure is drawn out and you have cut it out, start pasting on some characteristic features which may include some bobble eyes which can be picked up at your local retailer such as Wal-Mart. You can also paste on some ears made out of the piece of paper, paste on a mouth made of yarn or colored string and a nose made of anything small such as a small cotton ball or bead.
You can create a stabilizer in for the back of your paper puppet if you wish by cutting out a strip of paper and making a triangle out of it and pasting it onto the back of the paper puppet so that it can stand on its own without your help if you wish.
Last create a scene and voice for your character and have some fun as your child or children watch in amusement and excitement as you tell a story with your puppet or just act out something without words at all.
This is a very simple and easy project to create. Just have some and use your imagination
