Step 1: Get a pumpkin, a knife, a bowl and a spoon. A candle, a box of matches, and a pair of tongs are optional.

Step 2: Take the top off the pumpkin, so it is like a lid.

Step 3: Scoop out all the seeds from the pumpkin and put all the seeds in a bowl. The seeds can be used for other stuff so don’t throw them out.

Step 4: Take the knife and make out where you want the eyes, nose and mouth to be on your pumpkin.

Step 5: Cut out the eyes, nose and mouth. When you have cut along the lines, you can push the eyes, nose and mouth out from the inside.

Step 6 (Optional): Light the candle and lower it down into the middle of the pumpkin.

Step 7: Place the top/lid back onto the pumpkin.

Be careful when inserting the candle as it can burn you easily. I suggest either lighting it when it is inside the pumpkin or lowering it down into the candle with the tongs because the heat will burn your hand if you try to put a lit candle in with your hands. Halloween Pumpkins make nice decorations. You can take out alot of the pumpkin flesh before you light it to make pumpkin pie, but after you have lit the candle in the pumpkin, the flesh will be tainted, and won’t taste nice.
