How to Make a Tag Album

A tag album is easy and inexpensive to make. It is fun way to show off your photos and it is an ideal gift for young or old.

I made this tag album as a keepsake for my daughter when she went away to university. I bought the tags ready cut from ebay, but if you have a template or a cutting machine you can make your own tags. The tags should be made of thin card of contrasting colours and patterns, you can choose the size of tag.

You will also need

A hinged metal ring to connect all the tags together (sold as book rings in craft shops and on ebay)
Some scraps of ribbon and thread
A small amount of coloured and patterned paper
Embellishments and stick on letters
A piece of A4 photo paper and a printer to print out a selection of small photos
Paper glue or sticky dots

If you are a regular crafter you will be able to use up scraps and oddments from your craft box. Use patterned paper to add interest to the tags and use coloured paper to create frames for your photos, this is easily achieved with a metal ruler and a craft knife, if possible use a craft mat when you do this to protect your work surface. Position your photos carefully and add a few embellishments to create a theme for your album. When you are happy with your tags connect them with the hinged ring and decorate the ring with scraps of ribbon.
