Origami: How It Changed my Life
Origami is the ancient art of paper folding. It originated Japan and has grown in popularity ever since.
Over the past few years I have been trying many different hobbies such as painting, animation and amateur game
Game designing, I have now lost interest
In all of those hobbies and have found a new one. Origami, is what I spend most of my spare time doing and it is very entertaining. I first began origami when, I found that many of my classmates enjoyed playing with imaginary pets made from paper and so, I began to create these pets and sometimes I even sold them for a small price. The first paper pets that I created became popular back in 2006, they were called “mini-me’s” and where based on the very popular origami fortune tellers which were first created in the classroom by Nick cros who sat not to far away from me. I made an average fortune teller and drew a face on it.
It was also a pretty good puppet.
I even wanted to organize a puppet show, but it never caught on so I just ignored the idea and began thinking of new paper pet designs.
The next paper pet was not as popular among my classmates and it wasn’t even made by or designed in any way by me,
It was designed and first made by nerson person a person who was growing in popularity by the start of the second 4th class term, the little paper pets were given the worst name possible. “Little Babies” is what they were called and when I first heard there name I nearly burst out laughing, they where basically a not very well cut and folded piece of paper with a face drawn on it. In the same time only a few people where still asking me to make them paper pets and hats and paper boats None of these paper creations ever became popular again. So, in approximately April I stopped making them and began selling various toys from this I made a profit of
Approximately, 120 euro.
I still enjoy origami but, I don’t make my own designs anymore but stick to originals such as the crane.
And now I finish my story with a list of things I can make with a simple piece of paper.
- Crane (bird)
- Boat
- Hat
- Fortune teller
- Open box
- Closed box or balloon
- Aeroplane
Remember I am still an amateur so I hope the list will get bigger.
