Project Ordinary to Extraordinary: Bottled Salt and Chalk Powder
Create a unique bottle decor by combining salt and colored chalk powder.
Turn those ordinary bottles into something extraordinary. Instead of junking these bottles, think of something that you can bring out the creativeness within you. Some people transform wine bottles into wine lamp giving them extra income. These wine lamps can also be use as table décor.

Still, others turn wine bottle into a Decorated Wine Bottle using some objects that make them look like armored objects with elegance and class.

Or you can also transform soft drink bottles into this;

Bottle decoration had been around for decades. For our project in particular, we’re not going to use any specific type of bottle – meaning to say, any bottle will do, even glass will do.

The materials needed are the ff;
- Assorted colored-chalk
- Iodized salt
- Ribbon
- Glue/adhesive
- Mortar and pestle
- Any type of bottle or glass
- A stick

Here’s how to do it
- Pulverize the colored chalk using the mortar and pestle
- Mix the pulverized colored chalk to a particular amount of salt. If you want darker color result, add lesser amount of salt. If you want it lighter, add more.
- Pour mixture to bottle according to your desired color combination and design
- Use the stick to create a design
- Wrap or paste the ribbon. If you don’t know how to make a ribbon, there are ready-made ribbons available in the market. But better yet, learn how to create your own.
- Note: Do not use rock salt because it will not blend well with chalk powder

Human creativeness is limitless. So keep experimenting, keep creating something worthy from objects that seem useless.
