Simply Useful Again: Recycled T-Shirt
Is it a rag? Is it precious? No it’s your favourite T shirt. It is special and you don’t want to throw it away. Here’s a simple idea to make it useful again, recycle it.
Happy 20th birthday, but you are now 30 years old, with love from London, England, I love my dog / cat, save the whale!
Do you have a favourite T-shirt hanging around? Is it too precious to throw out but too embarrassing to wear in public? Has it shrunk or hold holiday memories? Has your child got one that is too small but just so cute you can’t bear to part with it?
Well simply make it useful again!
- Turn the T shirt inside out and if you can sew, stitch the bottom together, if you can’t sew, staple it or use the iron on webbing for hems or just tie a knot in it, simple
- Carefully turn back the right way
- Hang it on a coat hanger
It is now useful for hanging in the wardrobe to store socks or underwear, fill it with teddies, and hang it in the laundry room to accommodate those socks that are waiting to be reunited with their partner or to start their new life as dusters.
The now useful T shirt can be hung in the garden shed or garage for extra storage, saving shelf space. It is a great item for storing Wellington boots and shoes and the best thing is you still have your precious T shirt for years to come.

I hadn’t thought of these uses for a tee shirt but I cut the sleeves and neck out of mine, bind them with tape or ribbon and walla, I have a new summer top. I will remember that I can use them for other things as well. thanks for the info.

I use the smaller tee shirts as pillow covers after cutting out the ‘arms’ 
or put them on for the bigger stuff toys lying around the house!
Some tees come with really nice pictures/logos, I cut these out and sew them on jeans for the kids ta-da, ‘new’ jeans…

nice article i generally nor very intrested in crafts and other things because i m not that good in it the most beutiful craft i ever made was my science project from 7th grade. lol.
