Smell So Fresh with Lavender Bags
These lavender bags, smelling so fresh and clean, make very pretty gifts that look charming and are so practical in a linen cupboard.
Ingredients
- 35cm x 6mm ribbon
- 28 cm x 5 cm piece of lace
- Scissors
- 4 pieces of muslin (cheesecloth), each 12.5 cm x 10 cm (5 in x 4 in)
- Needle and thread
- Lavender pot-pourri
- 5 stems of lavender
- Small elastic band

Method
1. Cut a 12.5 cm length of ribbon and lace. Place a length of lace and one of ribbon 7.5 cm from the bottom edge of a piece of muslin (cheesecloth) and stitch into place. Gather the remaining length of lace and stitch to the top of the muslin.
2. Turn through and stitch the sides. Fold to the centre seam, stitch the bottom edge and turn through.
3. Fill with the lavender pot-pourri and tuck the five stems of lavender into the top of the bag, protruding from the neck, and secure with an elastic band.
4. Take the remaining ribbon and tie in a bow around the neck, to cover the elastic band.
