The Practical and Fashionable Memo Board
This is unique craft can add beauty to any room and lets you say something about yourself.
I have a new item hanging on the wall hanging in the apartment but is not only practical, but fashionable. As you see I have only started placing items upon my mine. What I like is that tacks are not a complete necessity to use when placing items on this board.

It is called a French Memo board, and my boyfriend put it together for me.
I found the basic information to put this craft together on Craftygal. The difference between her board and mine is she used rick-rack and I used ribbon.
All you need is a bulletin board, a yard of fabric, batting, and 15 yards of ribbon, pins with pearl heads, a staple gun, and fabric glue (one that does not stain the fabric when it dries.) You can choose the fabric and colors you like. Most of the items I needed I bought at Jo-Ann Fabrics.
The fabric and batting are laid down and the bulletin board and then folded and stapled to the board. The fabric needs to be very tight in order to have no wrinkles. The ribbon is then spaced on the board in a criss cross fashion very straight and stapled. Pins are tacked at the cross ends. The pins will pop out unless they are glued. My board needed twenty four hours to dry.
I love it and it says more than just the plain old bulletin board.

nicely done! I have seen many of these in area stores and always thought that they were very over priced.
it’s nice to see someone explaining how easy it is to make one
