FDA Approves Drugs Despite Them Failing to Work
Why would the FDA approve a drug that studies show didn’t do what it promised?
The American people should be outrages to find out that the FDA approves drugs ever year that gets less than favorable results or the drug study showed that the drug didn’t work at all. We are talking about drugs that are being prescribed today for such ailments as:
- Depression
- Heart Diseases
- Cancer
- HIV/AIDS
Twelve antidepressants were recently studied in 74 separate test and only results of 38 of the 74 tests came back with favorable results. That leaves 36 tests that came back with negative reports. Now if you are one of the millions of people who take anti-depressants everyday, do you have one of the drugs who tested favorably or one of the ones that tested negatively?
Does the FDA have something against letting people know the truth about the drugs they are putting out for us to take and put into our bodies? Do they care more about the money these drugs will garner than the life that could end because they are taking drugs that are not working?
Paxil got seven negative studies, but only two were published. Wellbutrin SR got 2 negative results and neither was released to the public. Zoloft had five studies done on it, but the three showing it did not work were never published and a fourth study was marked as questionable by the FDA, then rewritten and published saying it did in fact work.
When someone gets a prescription filled they believe the drug that they are taking is working. The doctors cannot be blamed because if the true results are never published the doctor cannot know he is prescribing something that failed in the study process.
The FDA needs a complete overhaul and the people in charge right now need to be fired. The FDA is the American people’s first line of defense when it comes to drugs that we put into our bodies in order to heal and if that line of defense is corrupt than that defense needs to be fired. There are no ifs, ands, or buts here, the FDA either needs to do an honest job or need to be released from that job. We are wasting money paying the FDA to slowly kill us with drugs that do not work.
