The use of inhaled drugs are most common among young people, as a substitute to alcohol or other drugs. Many of these kinds of drugs are everyday product that usually isn’t illegal. They are basically easy to buy substances that may be bought in many stores. These substances may gasoline, thinner, acetone and butane gas. They are relatively cheap and easily accessible.
Many of these drugs, however, is toxic and can cause damage to the nerve system and internal organs. Generally, a affected person may be disoriented and confused. The chemical itself may also smell after usage (spray cans and such). The duration of the drugs effect are generally fast, but may differ between the substances.
The most common inhaled drugs are Butane gas and Poppers, described below.
Butane gas
Butane gas is mainly in cigarette lighters. The gas can be found in lighters or as bottled refills for lighters. When inhaled, the butane gas quickly gives effect by preventing oxygen from reaching the brain, giving a temporary lack of oxygen. This is of course a high risk for permanent damage and have caused many deaths.

Poppers
”Popper” is a common nickname for amylnitrit, originally a medicine that stimulates the heart to pump out more blood. The drug will give the addict rush when the oxygenated blood reaches the brain. It’s also known to increase sexual demands.

The ”Popper” is contained in glass bottles. It’s a yellowish fluid with inhaleable vapors for effect.
The effect kicks in after a few seconds and last for a couple of minutes.
