Icehouse

A cheap American beer that tastes a little like a mix of Budweiser and Pabst Blue Ribbon. There’s nothing special about this beer, but it doesn’t fully suck since it might make a good thirst quencher. The folks at Plank Road Brewery made this stuff at the time of my tasting.

I.C. Light

Pittsburgh Brewing Co.’s light version of Iron City Beer. Hardly any taste at all, but plenty of carbonation. Would probably score higher if it had more flavor. There are plenty of better light beers, so you can steer clear of this one.

Iron City Beer

Not as bad as I’d expected. Pretty smooth with a strong American-tasting bitterness that goes away fairly quick. Makes a good bar beer and would likely go well at cookouts. Made since 1861 by the Pittsburgh Brewing Co.

Isosceles

3.1

The Gluek Brewing Co. of Cold Springs, Minnesota, makes this brew and a portion of the proceeds go to AIDS and breast cancer research, so while this isn’t an extraordinary beer, you can feel good that you’re drinking it for a good cause. This light beer tastes like a premium U.S.-made beer with maybe some extra sweetness thrown in.
