One type of bitter fruit is the olive. Yes, olives are a fruit and olive oil is a fruit juice. Olives are also good for your health.

When olives are not ripe they are green. Olives that are ripe are black. There are two colors of olive oil. One is yellow and the other is green. The color of olive oil means when the olives were harvested. Olives are used all over the world. In Europe people dip their bread in olive oil. I like a hot home made roll dipped in the olive oil and sprinkled with parmesan cheese.

Olives are good for your health. Olive oil is very mild and it is easy to digest. It is known that olives helps with ateriosclerosis. Olives may even play a part in preventing ateriosclerosis. Even the use of olive oil is good for your cholesterol level. This means less heart disease.

Olives can be eaten plain. They may also be baked with fish and topped on pizza. There are a variety of ways you can eat olives. Olives are delicious in a salad or pickled. Olives can be baked in bread or buscuits. Olives are enjoyed all over the world many different ways.

I think the olive tree is a beauty. Popular in the Mediterranean, the olive tree is an evergreen. The flower is white and the fruit is green or black. The olive tree repesents itself as a symbol of peace, wisdom, and power. The olive tree is ancient. In Italy there is an olive tree that has been determined to be 4000 years old. The tree still produces olives. Olives are grown in California here in the United States due to it’s Mediterranean climate. The countries that produce the most olives are Spain, Italy, and Greece.
