Dining with My Triond Guest: Be My Guest
I’m doing my best to write a different type of cookbook. It’s not just about recipes. It’s about one writing soul to it’s guest. Be my guest.
Image via Wikipedia
I’ll wine you and dine you. I’ll sit with you and talk until we know one another. Then, I’ll ask you what fancies your taste today. Will it be shrimp or maybe a vegetarian meal? I’ll listen like a member of your family indeed.
Look inside that cooking delight mind of yours and tell me things you’re dreaming of. Then maybe I can pull from my pocket more than an idea or two. Maybe I’ll be able to cook a meal that speaks to your soul. Be it pork chops, rice, pasta, sauces, eggs, cheeses, and oh what other pleases. This is the way a true writer pleases.
Yes you guest it! It’s more than just about my fancy ideas. It’s also about my guest which is you and it’s me. May I set the table for us all?
Now! Does anybody have a creative thought or idea about a special ingredient, or a special thought about what the word food means to them?
There are great minds here at Triond. Many are from far off countries. Think about all the knowledge that could be at our dinner table for discussion. Have any great ideas for table discussions? Who has an idea for a dinner prayer that can inspire all who attends to walk away with more than their appetite fulfilled?
God bless!

What about a prayer of blessing to begin the meal and another of thanksgiving at the conclusion? Probably wouldn’t work with kids at the table.

A nice creative piece. For me food means time at the table to talk with family or friends. The kitchen table is the best place to talk. My children would sit at the table and do homework while I cooked and we talked a bit. Now it is a quiet time for my husband and I to share our day or a fun night out to dinner. I can also be a table full of granddaughters eating and laughting.

The way to a man’s heart ( may be a daughter’s or a son’s) is through the stomach. Do you think so?
Food in, anger out. What’s your take?
Food nourishes the soul, fasting strengthens it?

Food is : Before 40 : It is one of the essentials of our life without which we cannot live and it should be according to our taste and in a way, we live to eat;
In the post 40:- we eat to live and we care little for its taste etc.we care more for our health than its taste.

Food feeds more than the body, as I’m sure you know. And to feed a person takes food for the body, mind and spirit. No doubt all of these are on your menu.

What a great article! I really like the message in it. Here’s an idea for table discussion at the dinner party. How about taking a walk down memory lane? You all can talk about fond memories of past dinner parties. Maybe something funny happened and you can have a good laugh together.

An ounce of prayer, a platter of sharing, and a huge bowl of laughter. Great post.

nice idea, seems like a “soup for the Soul’ type. Can I have the opening prayer?

I hope you get a lot of ideas. Maybe a few quick but nutritious meals for those times when the writing bug is upon us and we don’t want to take time from our writing to really cook!

Lovely ideas. For me it would have to be some creative low calorie meals as I am so bored with what I am eating, even though the diet is working wonders. Good luck.

Wonderful, excellent work. I believe that even through daily kindnesses and hospitality (such as a meal) that we can share Love and the grace of God with people. This is beautiful.
If I may contribute a little something,

I would also like to share this Bible Verse
“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
John 7:38
The gospel is more soul fulfilling than any earthly feast.
God bless you too
