The History of Yogurt
Yogurt has a long history. Since when people consume yogurt? How is the story?
Yogurt has a long history. Yogurt is a fermentation product. It has tasted sweet and sour at the same time. Yogurt contains living bacteria as pre-biotic, which is microbe from food that profitable for micro flora in digestive system.

Pre-biotic concept has been known since 2000 years a go. It is said that the history had been begun by a Turkey merchant who brought milk in a pocket made from sheep intestine as a supply along on his trip. Because of hot sunshine in the day and the cold of desert temperature at night, the milk changed to be solid clot. The taste was also changed to be sour but very refreshing.
In India, since a long time a go yogurt was used as medicine for stomach illness. It is also mentioned that Middle East people has been familiar with yogurt since 4.000 years a go. Since hundred years a go, Persian women have used yogurt as mask that useful to prevent wrinkle. Till now this benefit is still gained by women.
Since 19nth century, the benefit of yogurt is proven scientifically. Ilya Metchnikoff, a Russian scientist who works in Pasteur institute, Paris is the pioneer. In his study, the scientist said that Bulgarian who used to consume yogurt is healthy until very advanced in age.
Since then the study of yogurt’s benefit is done continuously. Metchnikoff finally received Nobel Prize and the fermentation products like yogurt is developed continuously. Yogurt nowadays is known as a thick slightly sour liquid food made from milk with bacteria added and often with fruit.

Yogurt is beneficial for intestine process, especially is digesting lactose. It also may enhance the nutrition quality, lower blood cholesterol level, prevent cancer and overcome diarrhea.

Love yogurt, especially frozen ones. However, I see those used in India is very different from ones sold in the supermarkets.
