With Labor Day on coming up, you might be excused for thinking there are only a few precious days left of the barbeques, beach parties and beautiful people that made this a typically memorable summer. But we want to go on record here and say: it’s not over yet.
At least according to your friends at CÎROC Vodka. After exhaustive research—examining thousands of years of weather patterns, the history of calendography, and a batch of nightlife enthusiasts—they’d like to point out a simple, sensuous, sun-drenched truth: the summer doesn’t end with Labor Day. In fact, it doesn’t really end until September 22. (Commence basking.)
As the official vodka of summer, they are also quick to point out that if there’s one cherished and noble tradition worth keeping alive a few weeks longer, it’s the summer Friday.
After all, the summer Friday is a magical institution—that magnificent time when weekend cocktailing tells work to go sit in a corner until Monday.
To that end, if you’e going to do one thing today, do this: check out CÎROC’s Facebook page here for a schedule of city-to-city calls to arms in honor of that magical end-of-the-week day.
Leave it to a French vodka company (and their cocktail enthusiast-cum-mogul spokesman, Diddy) to be the ones who finally convince you to take more afternoons off to tilt back a CÎROC and lemonade at your nearest swanky boîte.
Not to twist your arm or anything.
