First Impressions

Libras are very attractive, charming people.  The first time you meet a Libra, you’re likely to feel drawn to them or captivated by them in some way.  An air sign, Libras tend to be very talkative and good conversationalists.  Libras also tend to enjoy doing things that are artistic in nature, and that involve some kind of communication.  Reading, writing, photography, and blogging are some of the things you’re likely to catch a Libra doing in their spare time. 

Libras have a very strong aesthetic sense and you are very likely to find their homes/rooms very well/eccentrically decorated.  Due to this acute aesthetic taste, Libras tend to like the good life.  Libras are typically well-dressed and well-groomed.  At times, even their personalities seem well-groomed–even shy Libras tend to seem to know what they’re doing.  Appearances matter a great deal to Libras, and they attempt to maintain some level of composure at all times.

Due to their gregarious, often flirtatious nature, Libras tend to do well in occupations that involve working with people.  One of the symbols for the Libra sign is the scales; these indicate both balance–and justice.  It’s very easy for a Libra to see an issue from multiple points of view, and they will often argue from points of view that they do not necessarily believe–just for the sake of it.  This makes Libras formidable debaters.  Although a Libra may be more inclined to compromise in an argument rather than draw it out, if a Libra should feel wronged (or feel that another has been wronged), then you’d better prepare yourself for a fight!  This knack for debate makes Libra a good lawyer and confidant. 

As a cardinal sign, Libras would also do well in sales positions or business, as they are persuasive people who are not afraid of change.  They are good at coming up with new ideas, but not so good with seeing those ideas through to the end.

In Love and Relationships

The planet Venus, associated with love, infatuation, passion, and jealousy, is the ruler of Libra.  Because Libras strive for balance, and do their best to see things from the point of view of others, they are very likely to get into relationships with people with whom they may not seem to be compatible.  Libras try to see the good in everyone, and are usually open about how they feel about their partners.  In other words, when a Libra falls in love–they fall hard.

More than anything, Libras require devotion and honesty from their partners and in return they are very honest and devoted to you.  It takes a lot to get a Libra to hate you, but when you do, you might as well not exist.  The greatest punishment a Libra can dole out to someone who has crossed them is to seem very happy/successful without them.  So, until you reach this point with your Libran lover, you will notice that they are very quick to forgive and forget.

Warnings

If you are the eternal bachelor/bachelorette, you would do well to stay away from a Libra.  Libras tend to enjoy being in relationships, so flings or one-night stands aren’t an option–especially with a female Libra.  Libras also like external verifications of affection, such as gifts and cute little notes left in unexpected places.  They just want to feel loved as basically all times of the day.

Because Libra rules the kidneys, you’d best take notice of your Libra’s alcohol consumption.  Libras like to present themselves as very happy, outgoing people in public, but if they are hiding a secret pain, then they may indulge in excessive alcohol consumption.  Libras also tend to enjoy alcohol because it may make them seem more socialable and happy.

If you’re worried about meeting your Libra’s family, that’s too bad for you.  Libras like to see a melding of their varying social spheres.  They like to see people be friendly and get along.  A Libra’s family tends to be very important to them, and if you haven’t met your Libra’s relatives yet, you’re very likely to meet them soon.
