The 12 animals mark the beginning of the Chinese astrology. In the same manner people born are given animal’s signs to which year they belong.  Five elements are provided to differentiate persons born under the same sign. Thus each distinctive astrological sign is created for every person based on Chinese astrology.

 

The Dragon is the luckiest, most dominant and the lone mythical creature in the Chinese zodiac sign. Dragons are coupled with health, strength, harmony and good fortune.  Their signs are usually placed above doors or rooftops to drive away evil spirits and demons.   The most compatible sign for a Dragon is the rat or the monkey.

Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor of China, the Yang element which symbolizes wealth and power. In Chinese culture, dragons symbolize high reputation. It’s the sign of dignity, authority, honor, luck, success and capacity. 

Like the other zodiac signs Dragons signs were also linked to the five elements.  These are the metal, water, wood, fire and earth dragon. The cycle repeats itself every 60 years.

Those that were born in 1940 and 2000 had the metal dragon sign.  People born under these years were courageous but unyielding and have the determination to succeed. They’re honest and admired people who stand up to them.  In times of trouble they make good allies but can be a fierce challenger. They’re quick to defend what they believe in. They’re born leaders and influential.

The year 1952 and 2012 are given the sign of the water dragon.  Water calms the fearless temperament of the dragon.  It made the dragon redirect some of its characteristics and made him more amenable to others.  They’re not spotlight seekers and they try to practice patience.  They’re smart decision makers and see people eye to eye.

Wood brings creativity and modifying influence to the people born under 1904 and 1964.  They’re usually broadminded and inquiring kind. They get pleasure from talking about unique ideas.  They’re imaginative, practical, innovative and appreciate art of any form.  They’re the less conceited among the other dragons.  They have the capacity to build a successful and happy life.

1916 and 1976 falls under the fire dragon.  People born under this sign are a force to reckon with.  In a matter of seconds they can change temperament from calm to explosive.  They’re worst enemy even unto themselves. They have very high opinion of themselves, all-knowing and want to feel important.  They’re an asset to any cause because of their forcefulness and dynamism.  They are reckless, have quick temper and easily jump to wrong conclusions.

Earth dragon makes a good manager because they are levelheaded, practical and have a knack for organizing. Those born in 1928 and 1988 are diligent, romantic and take life’s responsibility seriously.
