So what defines and differentiates lifestyles from hobbies? Money? Availability? Willingness? No none of these, honestly. A hobby becomes a lifestyle and for most its almost impossible to see why others live the way they do. Well one toy, an extreme toy, is taking over many households and lurking aimlessly down hallways. The Hobby grade remote control car. Now when we hear remote/ radio control car, we think of connected controllers, 5 minute battery packs and average speeds of maybe 15 miles (at peak performance)! However, these new hybrids either electric or gas (nitro) remote controlled cars are exceeding speeds of between 25-60 stock (depending on personal preferences) to even higher speeds with modifications and upgrades! Average run times for these devices can range from 20-40 minutes , considering some cars/trucks/truggies run off of two battery and can even be equipped with two LITHIUM batteries!!!! After many of the upgrades or even just stocked, these hobby- grade toys, can perform standing back flips, jump ramps ranging from sofas to jeeps (amazingly….they really can) and even be flung at high speeds with nasty crashes and cruise away with minimal to no scratching.  Now does this all seem like a grown man’s dream…. Of course, but it does come at the expense of someone else’s pockets! These hobby grade cars maybe exceptional but just as everything else in life they come with pretty nice price tags. These toy world marvels can range anywhere between 70- 700 dollars with additional upgrades being between minimal dollars to over 400 dollars.  Now after the pricing+ standard/expedited shipping fees, its almost guaranteed that you have spent money that was well invested. There is a kid in  each and everyone of us regardless of outer appearance, so understanding your kids will break your bank is a part of life! If nothing else I do leave you with one suggestion: If the child in you is irresponsible maybe its best to start with the Walmart Special! (familiar manufacturers Losi, Traxxas, Duratrax)
