A Good Knife

A Good Knife

How to tell a good knife.

I have a small collection of knives and some are good but most of them are cheap little things from china (never buy off of EBay they tell you it’s a Colombian knife and BAM! china.)

A Good Knife

A good knife should be strong, sharp and durable E.g. last a long time between sharpening, if it has none or only one of these then you have a bad knife to check this you should really see the knife up close and study it a bit, check if it can cut clean through a sheet of paper, try bend it a little to see if it bends and check the angle of the blade it should be at around 25° to 30° if not then the blade will break or the knife won’t cut through butter.

Type of Knife

You can buy tones and tones of different knives Folding, Sheath, Flick, Switchblades, Butterfly knives the list goes on but the type that you want really depends on what you’re going to use it for:

Folding

Mostly used for camping and general purpose things because they are easy to carry, won’t open in your pocket and are pretty reliable.

Sheath

Again Sheath knifes are used for camping and general use but they are also used in the army and self defence because they are easy to get out and are pretty threatening, they can’t be concealed as easily but a good one will last you your life time.

Flick/Switch

These are pretty shit for just about everything apart from showing your mates because they tend to open when you don’t want them to and they tend to break really easily.

Butterfly Knives

The butterfly knife is a pretty good all rounder knife they are usually really well made, they are quick to open, they are really concealable and they won’t open next to your crotch this is the knife i would go with but they are illegal in most country’s, also these are great to do tricks with.
