The Beauty of Camping

The Beauty of Camping

Camping in any weather is a very rewarding an enjoyable experience, especially if you love camping. I have camped all season, in all kinds of weather.

Out in the woods, listening to nature, how awesome is that?

To really enjoy camping you have to one, be with a group you like, and secondly be prepared. With those two things covered, I bet you will have a great time.

During the summer, a site, a small backpack, plenty of fresh water, and food, along with bug spray, (or tea tree oil), sunscreen and a bathing suit.  After a nice afternoon of swimming in the lake, you take your sweetheart, over and watch the sun go down. You sit quietly with the one you love, and watch the sun glimmer through the branches of the forest all around you, the sound of nature come alive; the birds, or small animals scurrying through the under brush; as if to say goodnight.

Camping in the fall is awesome; the forest comes alive with color. The leaves of bright red, sweet potato orange, sunshine yellow, and winter browns, come together to paint a breathing taking view. Tent camping during this time of the years is great, the days are mild and the nights are cold, perfect weather for a campfire. You sit around the campfire talking about the good old day, or how the kids don’t find the joy of the outdoors. As the night wears on, quietness surrounds you, and out of the corner of your eye, you may see, sparkling eyes looking at you, as you slowly turn your head, shhh, as you notice a deer or two. The beauty of nature, the animals, the sounds, all that make each and every day a blessing to remember.

Winter camping is tricky but if you’re prepared anything is possible. During the winter, as warm as the day may be, you can be sure the night will be just as cold; and just as if a turn of a switch the weather can get frigid cold and snow will find its way to you. You can spend the day tracking animals, skiing, or just hiking the countryside, or maybe ice fishing for the tonight dinner. No fish, no dinner! At night the air comes alive with a campfire, roasting marshmallows, fun and laughter. As the campfire dies down, the crackling of the wood, you look up toward the sky, and the stars seem to jump out at you. On a clear winter night, with a full moon, you can leave the flashlights off, and let nature be your guide.

Springtime camping is when the woods come alive, everything that’s been hibernating seem to wake up at once. The animals crawl out, as if to say hello, spring is here; let’s play. The trees are budding, and leaves are growing; and the wild flowers are all around. You smell the sweet pungent scents of nature all around. This is the time to remember the bug spray, and sunscreen, and lets not forget the extra layer of clothing or two.  The days may be getting warmers, but the nights can catch you by surprise.
