Throw a NASCAR Themed Birthday Party

Give the little racecar driver in your life a fun-filled themed birthday party. Recreate parts of the exciting racetrack scene for birthday guests with a few simple tips and a little imagination.

Create a Nascar-themed birthday party for your little racing fans, using a few craft supplies and a little artistic imagination. From simple party favors to the grand finale “race”, these ideas are just the beginning of possibilities for your party.

Racing Goodies

Make little “grab bags” of party favors for each guest, using cars and racing as themes. Toy cars in racing models, keychains, and sunglasses are perfect choices, along with mini racing “mazes” and wind-up cars.

Race Track Cake

Ice the birthday cake with cool lines like a racetrack — use food coloring or tubes of colored icing to draw out the “asphalt” track in a loop or figure-eight design on a smooth green or brown layer of icing. Use mini-cars to fill up the track or stage a mini “crash” with a few for a cool effect.

The Big Race Game

Make cardboard “cars” by cutting and gluing together old boxes into simple two or four-sided cars. Paint with craft paint to create details like headlights, tires, and cool racing colors and decals. Make each car unique — it’s a great idea to let the birthday “racer” and the guests each add the finishing touches to their own cars.

Mark off a “Start” and “Finish” in your yard and let the kids line up inside their “cars” — then wave a checkered flag and let the race begin. The winner is awarded a plastic trophy and showered with a little confetti or silly string for good measure. Runner-up prizes can include candy bars or plastic medals.

Pit Stop

Create a “pit stop” cookie bar for tired little racers by setting up a table with car-shaped cookies in all different colors and shapes. Cut them yourself from a roll of sugar cookie dough and use tubes of icing and creative features like Oreo tires or M&M headlights to decorate them.

Have fun with a Nascar birthday party and let those energetic racers work off some steam before digging into those sweet treats. Don’t forget the camera for those finish-line moments!

These are wonderful ideas for a birthday party. My 10 year old son is a big Nascar fan and he would love a birthday party like this. I’m going to put this in my favorites so I can go back to it next year when he has his birthday. My sister might also enjoy this. Her son is also a Nascar fan and he will be turning 11 in October. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful article!
