Seven Things You Can Do During Summer Vacation

Hey guys I know these days are rough financially with trying to save money and make ends meet. Today families cut back by cutting off things such as taking long-distance vacation trips. So don’t be so bored in the house because your family can’t take that dream vacation to Hawaii or the Florida Keys. Here are a few things you can do around the house or locally’ some maybe a little throwback but there’s nothing wrong with kicking it old school!

  1. Write a letter: Yeah! In the age of text message, e-mail, AIM, Facebook, MySpace and Twitter writing a letter seems so ancient! Some things you can mention in a letter you don’t even think about mentioning on the CPU. You don’t have to write the letter in one setting, it could take you the whole summer to write the letter because there is so much gathered in that brain of yours. Think of a distant relative or a friend from elementary, middle, even high school or college you haven’t heard from in years! Pick up a pen and paper and write on! Don’t forget the 35 cents forever stamp.
  2. Be a Good Samaritan: Get in your house, open those closet doors and clean, clean, clean. There are some things you don’t need: old toys, clothes, furniture that never seems to fit the house, Have you ever had those shoes you regret buying or an outfit that is just hideous and none of your friends or relatives don’t want them? Then donate them to Goodwill, Plato’s closet, or a retail store that take hand me downs. If your like me and don’t own many name brand clothing; Goodwill or a local retail store.
  3. Vacation! In the backyard baby: There is no need to go to these night clubs with people you can hardly see. Plus some are intoxicated so they don’t know what they’re saying or doing anyway. So gather your relatives and closest friends and go in that backyard or patio and have a ball!
  4. Read: Like said previously in a world of technology reading is totally forgotten. So pick a topic you’re interested in and read about it. If you don’t like long books, read a magazine, newspaper, a speech, etc. Reading is fundamental plus your mind goes as far as you want to take it with reading.
  5. Family Movie Night: You don’t even have to rent a movie; go in the case of movies you have and look at an old movie you haven’t seen in a while even if it is a VHS! Gather family, pop popcorn, huddle up chips and dip ad enjoy the movie. Do it every week during the summer.
  6. Take a local vacation: Have a picnic in the Park. Visit a relative that live in a city 30 minutes to 40 minutes away. There are also known as one tank trips. Stay in a hotel there and see the sites.
  7. Comedy Night: At My House: Don’t go spend your hard earned money at these comedy clubs where the comedian isn’t that funny and serve water down drinks. Set up your living room with mic, lights, and tables and prepare for a laugh off!
