Obama’s parents divorced when he was only a mere 2 years old.

Fact #3 –

As a young adult, Barack fell victim to alcoholism and drugs, particularly marijuana and cocaine. He explained that he wanted to “…push questions of who I was out of my mind.” He later reflected on this as his “greatest moral failure.”

Obama was a professor at the University of Chicago Law School for 12 years.

Fact #5 –

When Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996, he helped to increase the amount of tax credits provided for low-income workers.

In U.S. history, Barack was the 5^th African-American Senator.

The Secret Service has assigned the codename “Renegade” to Obama. I’m not quite sure about the significance of this classification.

Fact #9 –

Barack and Michelle became engaged in 1991 and were later married on October 3, 1992. At first, Michelle didn’t want to date Barack, but she eventually gave in to his request.

At the end of 2007, the Obama family had a household income of approximately $4.2 million.
