I was browsing youtube and I came across an extraordinary story that at first I was skeptical of. It was that of a young girl by the name of Brooke Greenberg. According to her family and doctors she appears to be a child of about 6 months of age but is actually about 16 years of age. Doctors are stumped as to the reason she has not aged.

There was a huge amount of press coverage on this some have dubbed Brooke “an eternal baby”. Oddly enough not only does she not age but every time she has been ill she has recovered with no lasting side affects. It is actually astonishing to many in the medical community. Many scientists have expressed an interest in her condition and according to one published report her dad was quoted as calling her “the fountain of youth”

I admit the story is a fascinating one but I believe everyone has a right to live their lives peaceably. I have heard that scientists are interested in studying her to find out what is so different about her. I would hate to see this little girl be exploited or used as some Frankenstenian doctors experimental guinea pig.

“At about 16 pounds and 30 inches, 16-year-old Brooke Greenberg has not aged significantly, physically or apparently cognitively, since she was a toddler. Doctors hope that her case could shed light on the mysterious genetics behind aging.”

Doctors want to discover her secret, I just hope they consider her safety and respect her life in doing so.
