H.G. Wells: Born Before His Time

H.G. Wells: Born Before His Time

A tribute to one of the Great Masters of sci-fi literature.

The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells is a classic of sci-fi literature.

I read it numerous times as a child. It was so riveting that, years after it was written, when a radio dramatization of the book was done it caused a panic in the streets.

Who would have thought a tale of an alien invasion would or could cause such hysteria?

Nonetheless, when the panic died down, the book was famous worldwide and became one

of the most widely read in it’s genre. Amazing isn’t it?

H.G. Wells, the author is still known as a Master in Sci-fi circles.

Other famous works include The Time Machine and The Island of Dr Moreau.

If Herbert George Wells was alive today, he would no doubt be stunned at how much the world has changed. He would definitely be enamoured with the scientific accomplishments we have achieved.

Many of them in his day would’ve been, and were considered simply sci-fi fantasy or the stuff of eccentric minds.

This commentary is dedicated to the memory of H.G. Wells and to his fans worldwide.

I hope many readers enjoy his talent for years to come.
