Actually, if you\’ve read the book, you\’d know that he did not die of eating the seeds of a poisonous plant. He ate regular potatoe seeds that are edible, but because he left them in a Ziploc bag for a long time, they became moldy. He didn\’t realize they were moldy and he ate the whole bag of them, eventually all the mold got to him and led to his demise.

This report says his body was found in September. But I have read it was in July.

Hate to “de-romanticize” the myth, but it is now widely believed he was mentally ill, probably with schizophrenia.

i think he was on the right track ,i also share the same thoughts that he believed ,people still judge without knowing and put themselves higher than others ,,truth and love remains…another misguided soul from virginia.

We can’t know if it was starvation or the seeds. It could have been either or a combination.

Actually, he ate the seeds of a poisonous plant, and the toxins in the seeds prevented his body from turning the food he ate into usable nutrients. Therefore, he starved to death.
